Making mistakes

I say, make as many mistakes as you can. Because this is how we learn, think back to how long it may have taken you to learn to tie your shoes or spell that pesky list of words in elementary school every week. How bout’ how many years it took to learn how to construct a proper essay for English class. Truth be told, It’s been years since I’ve been in a formal learning institution and even more since I’ve written anything more than a love note or an excused absence blurb, so please forgive any of my improper grammar or punctuation I’m only human.

How do you feel you deal with failure? When was the last time you asked yourself this question? When was the last time you tried something new? It’s strange how many people you see nowadays that feel like they are stuck in a rut, I mean you either hear it from them in passing or you can simply see it written all over them, heck it might even be what you are thinking right now as you read this. I want to tell you that time heals all wounds, or rather the wounds fade a lil’ bit every year, some you forget and others you wouldn’t if you could.

Which brings me to today’s post. Even though I am now 2 weeks into practice in the Spencerian system of practical penmanship book 1. I am going to restart from the beginning as I really want to do this right from the start. I realized that I was practicing whilst holding the pen like you would if you were normally writing anything. Proper holdAccording to the first of the 5 set of books theory, you should be sitting one of two ways, I prefer sitting with my writing surface to my right as I’m right handed.right side position So I’ve been sitting just fine however the way I have been holding my pen is quite unlike the way it recommends you hold it. Now I know you may be saying but as long as you’re practicing does it matter? Of course it does because in my mind, If anything is worth doing, make sure you’re doing it right
